A Fall River man pleaded guilty on Thursday in federal court in Boston to robbing four banks in Massachusetts within a five-day period and attempting to rob another bank.

He has previously claimed responsibility for more than 100 bank robberies and said that his life served as an inspiration for the 2010 Boston-based bank robbery film, "The Town."

William Sequeira, 59, was charged with one count of bank robbery and faces a sentence of up to 20 years in prison. More on Boston.com.
