Elgin has moved a historic marker in Wing Park to a more prominent location near its entrance and exit roads.

Elgin City Councilman Steve Thoren, who has a special affection for the one Elgin's founding families, spearheaded an effort to move a monument to William Wing moved to a more prominent spot in Wing Park.
