This was the president et cetera 18th bay area visit. David louie, abc 7 news. In san jose, a man has filed a lawsuit against the San Jose Police department. That violent incident was caught on cell phone video, as police grabbed 23yearold nate howard and forced him to the ground. He was in san jose to give a keynote speech. Wayne freedman joins us from san jose. Wayne . Cheryl, the incident just happened a few feet away from us. It was last may 24th. The San Jose Police department receives some 200 complaints every year. This is the incident, march 24th captured on a cell phone. It shows San Jose Police and a group of africanamericans, many of them san jose state students. Watch

The judge called the shooting deaths horrifying, cruel and, and he said as a 3yearold he couldnt have been more defenseless or vulnerable. He said the two men plotted and planned, because they had a fix ace about killing rival gang members, and then handed down tough sentences. Gang violence, especially of this nature simply wont be tolerated. Thats the message that the prosecutor wanted to send in the immediate wake of the sentencing. Lawrence denard was given 137 years to life. Willie torrance will serve 121 years to life. Their families and friends came to the hearing. Carlos mother and grandmother also attended. The 3yearold was shot and killed in august 2011, as his mother pushed him in the redandblue scooter down international boulevard near 64th avenue. Two others standing nearby were wounded.
