A 21-year-old man is facing several assault charges after he allegedly hit three people with a stolen vehicle in Beaver Bank, N.S., early Thursday morning.

A Beaver Bank apartment building will go ahead after the province's Utility and Review Board overturned a decision by Halifax councillors who had concerns with heavy traffic and overcrowded schools in an area that's seeing major development.

Firefighters responded Thursday night to Windgate Drive in Murrysville, where a tree fell on a house. There were no injuries reported, according to a Westmoreland County 911 dispatcher. Crews responded at about 9:15 p.m. near the intersection of Stonecroft Street. Additional details weren’t immediately available.
