The International Union of Left Publishers condemned the raid on a left book store in Malaysia's capital Kuala Lumpur by the Ministry of Home Affairs, reports Peoples Dispatch.

PETALING JAYA: A PKR MP has criticised a home ministry raid on a bookshop in Kuala Lumpur last Friday, which saw ministry officials seizing two books.

Saifuddin says it did not involve the entire shop.

PUTRAJAYA: The reason why the two books were taken from a shop in Wisma Central, Kuala Lumpur last week was for the purpose of research and to review the contents, says Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail.

PETALING JAYA: PKR Youth has criticised the Home Ministry for what it described as a troubling "double standard" in the treatment of certain books.

Local author and educator Benz Ali expressed how the Home Ministry officials "stole" his books in the store and said that the books weren't even on the list of banned books in Malaysia.

NGO urges govt to drop all enforcement action and repeal the act.
