The collapse of the Francis Scott Key Bridge caused major traffic problems throughout the Baltimore region on Tuesday – and is expected to continue to snarl traffic in the region. 

Six people are presumed dead by their employer after the Francis Key Bridge collapsed Tuesday. Governor Wes Moore in a 3:30 p.m. press conference said, "This is still an active search and rescue." 

While the search and rescue effort remains the priority at the Francis Scott Key Bridge, the broader economic implications of this incident are hard to ignore. 

Early Tuesday morning, a large container ship left port in the Baltimore Harbor, bound for Colombo, Sri Lanka. But the vessel never made it out of the harbor and disaster struck minutes after it set sail.
