Michigan Democrats are targeting a practice condemned by major medical organizations that’s aimed at changing LGBTQ youth and promoting heterosexuality. Some Republicans are wary of the bill’s broad language.

Sen. Mallory McMorrow, D-Royal Oak, sponsored the bills to prohibit conversion therapy, a practice she said was "dangerous" and "widely discredited."

Longmont composer, Michael Udow, will describe the development of his opera, "A Wall of Two," and will share a video of musical excerpts. The opera is based on the Holocaust survival story of sisters Henia and Ilona Karmel.

Nonprofit organization Friends of the Longmont Library will host a Holocaust memorial event next month.
