Governor Lamont Announces Collaboration Between Connecticut and Amazon Web Services To Train More Than 2,000 Residents for Careers in Cloud Computing

Connecticut officials announced new technology training opportunities Tuesday that will help train more than 2,000 residents for careers in cloud computing by 2024.

Terrence Cheng has work to do. In July, Cheng started his tenure as president of the Connecticut State Colleges and Universities (CSCU) system as its four universities and 12 community colleges undergo a period marked by change and challenges.

Gov. Ned Lamont on Monday announced the launch of two new competitive grant programs designed to disburse up to $200 million to promote economic development in Connecticut cities and towns.

A joint undertaking between the office of Gov. Ned Lamont, Connecticut State Colleges and Universities, Office of Workforce Strategy and Amazon Web Services will offer education and technical skills training to thousands of Connecticut residents, the governor’s office announced Monday. The governor and leaders in education and workforce development applauded the initiative, which is expected to benefit more than 2,000 residents for jobs and opportunities in cloud computing by 2024.
