The blue check identity crisis continues on X.

Elon Musk's X is now heavily criticized for many bot accounts verified and exposed by users. Users have taken Meta's Threads by storm as they exposed the renowned social media platform of Elon Musk, X, which has a massive infestation of verified bot accounts.

X announced a new feature this week that lets so-called verified users automatically block any replies from people without blue checkmarks.

Elon Musk-run X Corp has introduced government-ID-based verification checks for X premium users, as it aims to curb impersonation on its platform and doll out more benefits to them like "prioritised support".

ID Verification is currently available in numerous countries and will soon be extended to include more, such as the European Union, European Economic Area (EEA), and the UK, according to the company.

An app analyst saw this ID verification for Blue subscribers that are X verified. X will soon add a new layer of verification for users under the Twitter Blue service, the controversial subscription platform of the company.
