Now, israel is currently fighting a multi front war. How much pressure, both military and diplomatic, would you say israel is under right now . Stephen, a year after October 7th and israel is still under attack, not only from hamas In Gaza, but also from lebanon, yemen, iraq, iran. We have seven fronts, and unfortunately we have casualties. Israelis are dying from those rockets, but we are determined, we are determined to win this war. We realise we dont have any other choice, and that is why we have seen that we moved forward both In Gaza and with hezbollah. You know, we are a peaceful nation. If you would have asked me a year before that what we are doing now will happen, i will tell you, no way, because we have no desire to be in any conflict, not with hamas, not with iran, not with hezbollah. Fort myers beach, in florida. You can see those high winds and heavy rains beginning to lash the coast there in fort myers. You can see how much the camera is shaking with the wind there, and obviously large waves warned of Storm Surges and rising water levels, as you can see coming up over the beach and onto the barriers, and beyond. This is from a short time ago in fort myers. You can see the before and after of water coming up over this hotel pool. Quite dramatic there. And just to show how dangerous this storm is, even with the storm still offshore, it is already causing damage. It has spawned several tornadoes which have been reported in the state, including in Areas that are seeing flooding. This is a home in fort myers that was hit by one of those tornadoes. You can see the roof is ripped off and the interior already destroyed, and the hurricane itself hasnt even arrived. These pictures from space give you a sense of the size of the monster storm. Its bringing winds of up to 120
will certainly be felt here as well in beirut. you mentioned an official from hezbollah. is there broader concern about whether this is connected to, reflective of the turmoil in the region right now? reporter: well, we certainly have seen those tensions escalating, state media now citing iranian officials have characterized it and are describing this as a terrorist attack, but the cause behind the explosions, the potential motive still unclear. we are waiting to hear more details around that. this has been a moment of high alert across the region not least in iran and around the regions surrounding israel. of course, hezbollah has seen mounting tensions with israel across lebanon s southern border and we have been hearing those repeated warnings from international leaders, including the united states around the potential for the conflict in gaza to escalate and we have of course already seen those warning signs of escalations from yemen to syria and iraq.
that i ve known, democratic or republican not calling on both sides to be more cautious and staying back but saying it s entirely a palestinian problem. reporter: this is what was most striking from the briefing here. today saying the common thread lashing out at iran, saying the common threads is iran and all those violent incidents throughout the region from yemen to syria and to what we have witnessed taking place the last 24, now 48 hours approaching specifically in gaza and in israel. what does that mean for the peace process going forward. the white house was pressed on this yesterday. they suggest they don t believe this will have any long term impact but is indicated by reporters in the region right
