Samsung has received over 1,00,000 pre-bookings for its fifth generation foldable devices, the Galaxy Z Flip5 and Z Fold5, in India within the first 28 hours. The South Korean giant saw a 1.7 times increase in pre-bookings for its new foldable devices compared to the previous generation. The devices will be available for purchase in the Indian market from August 18th.

"The new devices were made possible because of world class R&D and manufacturing capabilities, especially in India. I am happy to announce that both the Galaxy Z Flip5 and Z Fold5 will be manufactured in our Noida factory in India," Samsung Southwest Asia CEO, JB Park said.

Samsung on Wednesday announced its fifth generation of Galaxy Foldables – Galaxy Z Flip5 and Z Fold5, along with new Galaxy tablets and smartwatches. The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip5 starts at $999 for the base 8GB RAM + 256GB storage, while the Galaxy Z Fold5 starts at $1,799 for the base variant with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage.
