Father Tolton freshman Will Breitweiser did not start Tuesdayโs game against the Jefferson City Jays, but he ended it. Down to the last out and trailing 3-1, Breitweiser belted the first pitch he saw for a go-ahead, three-run home run, the first hit and home run of his varsity career, that proved to be the difference in the Father Tolton Trailblazersโ 4-3 victory against the Jays at Jefferson City High School.

There was no shortage of offense Tuesday night at Jefferson City High School. The Battle Spartans and Jefferson City Jays combined for 23 runs on 27 hits, but the Spartans held on late for a 12-11 victory in Central Missouri Activities Conference play.

The eighth-seeded Jefferson City Jays took the top-seeded Camdenton Lakers down to the wire on Monday in the first round of the Class 5 District 5 Tournament, but fell 3-1 to the Lakers to end their season. The Lakers were only able to muster two baserunners through the first five innings against Jordan Martin on the mound, but they capitalized on a couple of key mistakes in the bottom of the sixth inning to score three runs to take the lead.

The Jefferson City Jays got back on the right track Saturday by winning both pool play games in the Jays Baseball Classic at Vivion Field. In Game 1, the Jays used a two-run sixth inning and a dominant outing from Zac Arnold on the mound to claim a 3-1 win over the Troy-Buchanan Trojans.

The Jefferson City Jays continued their slow start to the season Tuesday, dropping their Central Missouri Activities Conference opener to the Rock Bridge Bruins 10-0 in five innings at Vivion Field. The Jays ran into a dominant left-hander on the mound Tuesday, as Payton Messer threw all five innings while only allowing one hit and three walks in the shutout effort for the Bruins.
