(KAIT) - A series of severe storms Wednesday evening dumped heavy rains in Craighead and Greene Counties, causing flooded streets and homes. In Craighead County, the road department is closing County Road 959 between County Road 960 and County Road 931 due to wash-out of the roadway. Crews said work and repair may take a few days. Wednesday night, several cars had to be towed after they stalled out on flooded city streets. Jonesboro E-911 reported several flooded roads in town, including water 2 inches deep at Race Street and Caraway Road.

According to Entergy Arkansas, nearly 1,400 customers are without power as of 6 p.m. Sunday due to the weather. About 300 customers in Jackson County, 150 customers in Poinsett County, 115 customers in Crittenden County, 60 customers in Independence County and 50 customers in Lawrence County are among the customers without power.
