Free tickets, discounts and even gift cards those are just some of the incentives COVID-19 vaccine providers are offering for people to get their shots. Fans at Tuesday s Winston-Salem Dash game will get a discount ticket if they get their vaccine at a pop up clinic in the stadium. The clinic is run by Forsyth County Department of Public Health and it s the county s second pop up event that offers rewards for getting the vaccine.

Vaccine providers target mass-vaccination sites or clinics for first round of doses for ages 12 to 15

The first round of vaccinating youths ages 12 to 15 is taking place at local mass-vaccination sites, although there are plans to potentially have doses available in pediatric offices by early fall. Novant Health Inc. and Forsyth County Department of Public Health began providing first doses to that age group Thursday at their respective mass-vaccination sites at Hanes Mall and 799 Highland Ave. Wake Forest Baptist Health’s Brenner Children’s Hospital will hold a vaccination clinic for teens Saturday at Winston-Salem State University’s Anderson Center, 1545 Reynolds Park Road. Appointments can be made by calling (336) 702-6843. Novant offers walk-in vaccinations at Hanes Mall from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. weekdays, although making an appointment is preferable. The number of walk-in slots is subject to change based on supply.

WARREN/AP Health care organizations across the Triad are gearing up to provide the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine to 12 to 15-year-olds following an announcement from the Food and Drug Administration’s announcement this week that it’s been approved for the age group. Novant Health and the Forsyth County Department of Public Health say the earliest they could begin administering the vaccine to those 12-15 is Thursday. They are waiting for the Center for Disease Control and Prevention’s federal vaccine committee to issue its final recommendation.
