This week, the 2020 California Citizens Redistricting Commission (Commission) announced the addition of three outreach staff members who will be charged with providing region specific and statewide support to the Commission’s outreach and engagement activities.
Sulma Hernandez joins the Commission as the Outreach Coordinator. Kimberly Briggs will serve as Field Team Lead for the Greater Los Angeles and Orange County areas. Jose Eduardo Chavez will serve as Field Team Lead for the Central California region. Andrew Amorao will serve as Field Team Lead for the San Diego and Inland Empire regions.

Janzen named president of Tabor College by Hillsboro Free Press
The Tabor College Board of Directors has selected Dr. David Janzen to serve as the 14th president of the college. He currently serves as professor and software engineering coordinator in the Department of Computer Science and Software Engineering at California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo, Calif.
His appointment will take effect on July 1, succeeding Dr. Jules Glanzer after serving as president for over 13 years.
Janzen said. “We are excited and passionate about the mission of Tabor.”
Board chair Susan Franz Koslowsky spoke of the board’s confidence in Janzen’s leadership, recognizing him for his authenticity, entrepreneurial spirit and humility.
HILLSBORO – After a nationwide search, the Tabor College Board of Directors selected David Janzen, P.h.D., to serve as the school s 14th president. Janzen, an alumnus of the college, is currently a professor at California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo, California.
He begins as Tabor College s president in July, succeeding Jules Glanzer, who was in the position for more than one decade.
Along with teaching at Bethel College and the University of Kansas, Janzen invented several programs and worked in the software industry with Sprint from 1993-97. He received his master s and a doctorate in computer science from KU.

Lauren Lee signs her letter of intent to compete for Fresno Pacific University last week, surrounded by friends, family and her coaches.
Lauren Lee loves being in the water. From a young age, I fell in love with the water and I don t want to leave, she said.
Lee jokes that when she s unable to swim, her parents water bill goes up.
After swimming with the Lady Wolves for four years, Lee will be leaving to go to school at a college within diving distance of the ocean and giving her the opportunity to study marine biology a field she s long been interested in.
