The Florida Division of Emergency Management announced that federally-supported vaccination sites would resume using the one-dose Johnson and Johnson vaccine starting Sunday at 7 a.m.
Each site will have the capacity to administer up to 3,000 doses per day, the department tweeted.
They are Tampa Greyhound Track in Tampa, Valencia College-West Campus in Orlando, Gateway Mall in Jacksonville and Miami Dade Community College-North Campus in Miami. Additionally, the tweet said, the COVID-19 consent & screening form has new language in the immunization screening guidance section to comply with recently issued guidance.
The state s new form adds a question: Are you a female age 18 to 49 years old receiving the Janssen (Johnson & Johnson) COVID-19 vaccine?
Out of nearly 8 million people who received the J&J vaccine, 15 have developed the condition and three died. Federal officials, however, determined the benefits of the vaccine outweighed the risks of keeping it off the market.
