The state government said in a notification on Wednesday, “All passengers arriving from out-of-state flights and trains must compulsorily undergo home quarantine for seven days, even if the COVID test results are negative.” However, government officials, those traveling for medical reasons and those visiting the state in connection with bereavement will be exempted from this, Assam Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma reported.

With this, the Covid-19 death toll in India climbed to 1,78,769.

However I am confident of winning at least 84 seats,” Mr. Sarma said, after offering prayers at the Tripura Sundari Temple in Gomati district.
