GUWAHATI: Assam Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Minister Atul Bora announced a new animal ambulance service at the National Agri-Horticultural Show 2021 at Bokakhat in Golaghat district on Thursday. The Assam government has introduced the animal ambulance service in an attempt to provide a new boost to animal husbandry and veterinary sector of the state.
Minister Bora distributed the animal ambulances named as Pashudhan Sarathi to provide proper healthcare to the animals.

Guwahati: Citizens of Guwahati might face water shortage, as well as garbage clearance issues from January 27 as hundreds of workers of Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC), has threatened to stop work and stop the supply of water to Guwahati residents indefinitely.
It needs to mentioned here that many households and residential societies are dependent on water supplied by GMC.
Chandan Sharma, Convenor of the five municipal workers unions said that if their six demands are not met, they would be forced to stop water supply as a pressure tactic.

Guwahati/Itanagar, Jan 21 : The staff of a private gas and oil drilling company have appealed to the Chief Ministers of Assam and Bihar to secure the release from captivity of two employees of the firm who were kidnapped by militants in Arunachal Pradesh a month ago, police officials said on Thursday.
Arunachal Pradesh Police chief R.P. Upadhyaya told IANS over phone from Itanagar that the militants had earlier demanded Rs 20 crore to release the two employees of the company. The security forces of Assam and Arunachal Pradesh are searching for the hostages who were abducted by the United Liberation Front of Asom-Independent (ULFA-I) on December 21 from the company s drilling site at Diyun in southern Arunachal Pradesh s Changlang district, bordering Myanmar and Assam.
