LSSU CFO Morrie Walworth
SAULT STE. MARIE Morrie Walworth, vice president for finance and operations at Lake Superior State University, has announced his retirement effective Aug. 1, 2021.
Holding numerous academic and administrative positions at LSSU over an illustrious 30-year career, he has been chief financial officer since January 2016. A search is underway to fill the position.
“I’ve been fortunate to wear many hats at LSSU: professor, department chair, associate dean, dean, provost, and, ultimately, CFO,” said Walworth in a university press release. “I’m grateful for the variety of opportunities to further, as our strategic plan puts it, student learning and development; diversity, inclusion, and belonging; community partnerships and engagement; sustainability; and fiscal resilience and operational excellence.”

FRANKLIN, Tenn., March 8, 2021 /PRNewswire/ Today, PEDIGREE Foundation announced the opening of its 2021 grant cycle, which provides funds to U.S. shelters and rescues working to help dogs find loving homes. CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) - The University of Virginia is feeling the financial burdens of COVID-19.
UVA Spokesperson Brian Coy says the pandemic cost the school more than $250 million in the last two fiscal years.
The university lost housing and dining fees, launched COVID-19 apps, provided PPE, and shifted gears to support mass virus testing efforts.
“It goes without saying, this has been a dynamic year on all fronts,” Bob Blue with UVA Foundation Board of Directors said. “COVID expenses, hybrid learning, virtual board meetings.the list goes on and on. It’s been an extraordinarily challenging year for students, for faculty, staff, and senior members of the administration.”
