Montana reports 202 new COVID-19 cases, Cascade County adds 20

The state posted 202 new COVID-19 cases on Wednesday, bringing Montana’s total to 100,351 confirmed reports. Of the total cases, 97,327 are recovered and 1,651 remain active. There are 67 people who are now hospitalized out of 4,600 total hospitalizations, according to the state website covid19.mt.gov. Montana added one death since Tuesday s report, bringing the total to 1,373 fatalities related to the respiratory illness. The state has administered 1,086,548 tests for the coronavirus, which is 4,986 more than Tuesday. The first case of COVID-19 in Montana was reported on March 11. Gallatin County topped the state on Wednesday and reported 34 new cases, bringing the county to 195 active reports out of 12,367 total. The county accounts for about 16% of the new cases reported that day and about 12% of active cases in Montana. 

County COVID-19 vaccination clinic delivers 10,000th vaccine shot

Benefis nurse Kayla VanderKooy on Wednesday gave Great Falls resident Tanya Schaefer the 10,000th vaccine administered at the Cascade County Community COVID-19 Vaccination Clinic. For Schaefer, 61, the shot means protecting not only herself but especially her mother, her friends, her community and beyond. “Our country will be safer. My mother will be safer,” she said. “I couldn’t afford to bring it to her. She would have never survived COVID.” A celebration Wednesday, March 3, to mark the 10,000th shot honored the staff and volunteers who have shown up day after day to bring Montana one step closer to normal. State adds 235 COVID-19 cases, vaccine appointments to open

Montana on Saturday reported 235 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the number of active cases in the state to 1,757. There are 68 active hospitalizations out of 4,579 total hospitalizations. There have been 99,837 total cases in Montana since March and 1,356 deaths from the virus.  Cascade County on Saturday reported 12 new COVID-19 cases. The county has 51 active cases and has had 150 deaths from the virus.
