The area near Surajpur collectorate was waterlogged on Wednesday Greater Noida: The Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA) has decided to redesign roads and drainage networks around Surajpur collectorate that gets flooded almost every year. The work will start after this monsoon, officials said. The development authority has been facing a lot of criticism for not being able to prevent flooding in the area and other busy parts of the city. Although GNIDA had claimed it had taken preventive measures this time as well, steady rains that lasted for about 20 minutes resulted in waterlogging in many locations. Currently, eight pumps are being operated to drain out water. “Surajpur collectorate building is at a lower level compared to the road adjacent to it. Also, the drains near the building do not discharge water properly as they remain choked with silt and garbage.
