The church hall is being used to house rough sleepers on cold nights THE Salvation Army church in Bury has opened its doors to house rough sleepers as temperatures drop. The emergency shelter has been set up with Adullam Homes Housing Association and Bury Council as part of the Severe Weather Emergency Provision (SWEP), which provides a bed for those sleeping on the streets when temperatures drop below zero. The Brookshaw Street church has two rooms with camp beds for eight people in total ensuring it is Covid safe. Corps officer Lieutenant Hannah Borrett said: “When we were approached about providing the space, I said we would love to help.

The Promise & Pitfalls of Co-Productive Urban Climate Policy Development in Greater Manchester, UK Ryan Bellinson Environment, infrastructure and sustainability Ryan s research investigates the concept of co-production in an urban climate policy development process in Greater Manchester. Cities have been developing policies to address climate change for the last three decades. Despite their efforts, urban areas currently account for over 70% of global carbon emissions, and the climate crisis continues to worsen. If society is to avoid the dangers of the current climate change trajectory and achieve the ambitions set out in the landmark 2016 Paris Agreement, cities and urban areas need to find new methods for developing climate policy that can support meaningful climate action.
