While 33,088 people were examined, results of 902 were awaited. The death toll stands at 1,598 with two more patients succumbing to the virus. The new 186 cases include 34 from Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation, 12 from Rangareddy and 11 from Karimnagar. No case was detected in Narayanpet and Jogulamba-Gadwal, and while there was just one positive case in Kumaram Bheem Asifabad. So far, 78,23,989 people have been through tests. Of the total cases, 2,354 are active while 2,90,354 have recovered.

In a report by  The New Indian Express,Viswajit Kampati, director of the department was quoted as saying, “We will no longer allow any advertisement that challenges the aesthetic appeal of the city. Advertisements on shutters, signage boards, and neon glue boards must be taxed.”

Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) accounted for the most number of cases with 38, followed by Rangareddy and Karimnagar with 13 and 12 respectively, a government bulletin said on Friday providing details as of 8 PM on January 28. The total number of cases stood at2,94,120 while recoveries were at2,89,987. As many as2,537 patients are under treatment and 31,486 samples were tested on Thursday. Cumulatively, nearly 78 lakh samples have been tested.
