Telangana recorded 186 COVID-19 cases on Friday, taking the total to 2,94,306. While 33,088 people were examined, results of 902 were awaited. The death toll stands at 1,598 with two more patients succumbing to the virus.
The new 186 cases include 34 from Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation, 12 from Rangareddy and 11 from Karimnagar. No case was detected in Narayanpet and Jogulamba-Gadwal, and while there was just one positive case in Kumaram Bheem Asifabad.
So far, 78,23,989 people have been through tests. Of the total cases, 2,354 are active while 2,90,354 have recovered.
GHMC to restrict hoardings; to come up with service-centric ad policy

Hyderabad: Hyderabad will no longer have billboards and advertisement hoardings as the Directorate of Enforcement Vigilance & Disaster Management (EVDM) department of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) decided to make the city free of distraction, visual, safe, and aesthetically better, reports said.

The New Indian Express,Viswajit Kampati, director of the department was quoted as saying, “We will no longer allow any advertisement that challenges the aesthetic appeal of the city. Advertisements on shutters, signage boards, and neon glue boards must be taxed.”

Telangana recorded 197 fresh COVID-19 cases, taking the total positives to nearly 2.94 lakh while two fatalities pushed the toll to 1,596.
Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) accounted for the most number of cases with 38, followed by Rangareddy and Karimnagar with 13 and 12 respectively, a government bulletin said on Friday providing details as of 8 PM on January 28.
The total number of cases stood at2,94,120 while recoveries were at2,89,987.
As many as2,537 patients are under treatment and 31,486 samples were tested on Thursday.
Cumulatively, nearly 78 lakh samples have been tested.
