A convicted sex offender from Cleveland, Ohio is facing multiple charges after police said he tried to coerce an Assumption Parish juvenile into sending him lewd photos.
Arnold C. McCann, 22, is charged with pornography involving juveniles, cyberstalking, computer fraud, computer-aided solicitation for sexual purposes and identity theft, the Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office said.
The Sheriff’s Office said the crimes occurred between November 2017 and March 2020. Deputies responded to a complaint that a young girl’s Snapchat account had been hacked by someone attempting to extort lewd and sexually explicit photos.
The girl abandoned her social media account but left it still active, authorities said. She logged back into the account in March 2020 and found pornographic images of children.
