Ayodhya, Dec 23 (IANS): After the statement of All India Muslim Personal Law Board members that the mosque to be built by Sunni Central Waqf Board in Ayodhya is against the Shariat and Waqf Act, the chairman of the Waqf Board, Zufar Farooqi told IANS that the land for the proposed mosque is not exchanged land. For this land, the Waqf Board has paid stamp duty to the government and the land is the property of Waqf Board as its other properties like the Waqf Board s offices and some other properties that do not come under Waqf.

AYODHYA: All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) member Zafaryab Jilani said on Wednesday the mosque which is planned to come up in Ayodhya following last year s Supreme Court verdict is against the Waqf Act and illegal under the Shariat laws.
Athar Hussain, the secretary of a trust formed to build the mosque in Ayodhya, however, said everyone interprets the Shariat in their own way and when the land has been allotted under the directive of the Supreme Court, it cannot be illegal.

The blueprint of the mosque and a hospital to be built on a five-acre land in Ayodhya’s Dhannipur village was unveiled on Saturday at the Indo-Islamic Cultural Foundation (IICF) office in Lucknow.
