Abia by-election: Gov Ikpeazu makes case for Aba people

Ahead of the March 27, 2021, by-election for the Aba North/Aba South federal constituency seat in the House of Representatives, Gov. Okezie Ikpeazu has urged the stakeholders in the area to support an indigene of Aba as their candidate for the position.
The seat became vacant following the death of the former member representing the constituency, Hon. Ossy Prestige, who was serving his second term on the platform of the All Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA.
Ikpeazu who made the appeal during a PDP mega rally at Etche Road field, Aba, explained that it would be unjust to continue to deny the indigenous owners of Aba town an opportunity to represent themselves at the House of Representatives.

The Abia State chapter of the Action Alliance(AA), has adopted Dr. Okey Prestige as its flag-bearer in the upcoming March bye-election for the vacant position of Aba North/Aba South federal constituency seat in the House of Representatives.
The AA Flag-bearer is the younger brother of the former occupant, Late Hon Ossy Prestige, who was elected on the platform of the All Progressive Grand Alliance(APGA) and died in Germany last month.
The adoption of Dr. Okey Prestige as Candidate of Action Alliance, AA, for the coming bye-election was unanimously agreed by the party leaders, stakeholders and supporters in a voice vote, on Wednesday.
The state secretary of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) in Anambra, Honourable Tony Ifeanya, has expressed confidence that the ruling party in the state will not only win the November 6 gubernatorial election but will also retain power for another 16 years.

Another Abduction In Niger State
Women and children were among 25 individuals abducted in another kidnap operation carried out by gunmen in Niger State on Monday.
According to residents of Kutunku community in Wushishi Local Government Area, the armed men began shooting sporadically around 10 am as they carted away about 20 persons.
Meanwhile, five persons were also abducted in Rafi Local Government Area and several other persons were injured at Panku Gari Council Area.
