WATERTOWN, N.Y. (WWNY) - The man law enforcement officers dragged out of a smoke-filled motel room early Monday morning is in critical but stable condition at a Syracuse hospital.
Jefferson County sheriff deputies say 55-year-old Robert Murphy was first taken to Samaritan Medical Center after his rescue from room 112 of the Relax Inn in Watertown.
He was later airlifted to Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse.
Eleanor J. âEllieâ Kirch, 73, of Watertown, passed away Tuesday, January 5, 2021, of a sudden illness at Upstate University Hospital, with her family by her side.
Ellie was born in Lowville on March 30,1947, daughter of Milton P. and Pauline K. Schwendy Bush, and she attended school in Croghan and Beaver River.
On August 7, 1965, she married Gary M. Kirch at the Church of St. Stephen in Croghan, the marriage ended in divorce.
In her early years she worked at Northland Motors, and in 1979 she began her 37 year career at Samaritan Medical Center, retiring in 2017, where she was in charge of purchasing in the OR. Ellie was always a hard worker, she took on additional jobs at night cleaning offices and often having 3 jobs at a time.
MADISON, N.Y. The new year got off to a scary start for the Ford family, in Madison. They all recovered from COVID shortly after Thanksgiving. But about a month later, 4-year-old Kaison Ford started to complain about headaches and had a low-grade fever.
His doctor suspected an early ear infection, and sent the Fords home with a nasal spray. But that night, Kaison spiked a fever of 102 degrees. A second trip to the doctor revealed a negative rapid test for strep throat. The doctor gave him antibiotics for a suspected ear infection. But 24 hours and his fever wasn t budging.
