The contract also includes a club option for 2024.The terms of the contract were not disclosed. Alex Speier, of the Boston Globe, reports that the deal is worth a guaranteed total of $18.75 million.In December 2020, the Red Sox reportedly signed Barnes to a one-year, $4.5 million deal in order to avoid salary arbitration.Barnes is having a career year in his first season as Boston s closer. Entering Sunday, he s made 37 appearances with 62 strikeouts while converting 19 of 23 save opportunities.
