1. Nature of the consultancy: Research on return and reintegration in Afghanistan under the Reintegration Assistance and Development in Afghanistan (RADA) project. 2. Purpose: The purpose of this research is to broaden the current knowledge and understanding about the migration, displacement, return and reintegration in Afghanistan and to inform evidence-based decision-making on Afghan migration and reintegration among key international and national stakeholders. The research will be used by IOM, the European Union, and other external (inter)national stakeholders. 3. Objectives: To broaden understanding around the pull and push factors of migration and displacement in the socio-cultural, economic, and political context of Afghanistan. To assess the extent to which the existing policies and services in Afghanistan address the specific needs of returnees and host communities from return preparation to the reintegration stage.

2021-05-23 13:35:26 GMT2021-05-23 21:35:26(Beijing Time) Xinhua English KABUL, May 23 (Xinhua) Ten development projects have been putting into use in Afghanistan s eastern province of Laghman, the Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development said on Sunday. Costing 12.9 million afghani (over 167,000 U.S. dollars) the projects have recently been completed by the Citizens Charter National Priority Program (CCNPP) within Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development in different parts of Qarghayi district of Laghman, the ministry said in a statement. The projects included 150 meters water canal in the Mansour, 260 meters water canal in the Bagh, 150 meters canal in the Andruz, 120 meters canal in the Aripur, 300 meters canal in Tarakhil-e-Ulya villages, as well as the asphalting of several villages roads and construction of 550 meter supporting walls along a rivers in Qarghayi, the statement said.

5 May 2021 - 10:27 KBUL (Pajhwok): Some Non-governmental Organizations (NGOs) have termed the government’s decision of preventing public sector institutions from signing contracts with NGOs as interference in their affairs and say some contracts this year would remain suspended. The First Vice President Office in a letter has stopped government institutions from singing contracts with NGOs. Representatives of NGOs criticized the working framework offered by the government and termed it as interference in their affairs, stressing that the working framework needed to be reviewed. But government officials say currently work on major projects is underway in the country and whenever NGO have any reservations about any item of the framework they could amend it.
