She added that her husband, Malam Kabiru Abdulrazak, who is a manager with Amsad Printing Press lives in a rented house in the area.
“We were told they came for one Alhaji Usman’s residence and they have arrested about 10 people in that residence. But unfortunately, they included three people who are residents of different houses within the area including my husband. We just want to know the whereabouts of our family members because their lines have been switched off since,” she narrated.
Another family member, Malam Abdulrazak Shamsuddeen Abubakar, said his uncle, Hassan Muhammad Noujein, who is an epileptic patient, was mistakenly arrested.

Legal battle after ex-TV host claims Oknha’s rape attempt

Prime Minister Hun Sen s volunteer lawyers are investigating accusations made by My TV presenter Mean Pich Rita that tycoon Heng Sear, who holds the honorific oknha, had attempted to rape her.
The two parties are currently filing counter lawsuits. Pich Rita, 20, sued the tycoon, 60, for attempted rape while Sear sued her for theft with aggravating circumstances.
Pich Rita was a TV presenter and former Miss Grand Cambodia contestant and Sear is the owner of a glass company.
The Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Declan Emelumba, confirmed this to Vanguard in Owerri.
It was gathered by Vanguard that the aim of the dissolution was to regig his administration to further achieve his numerous projects of the 3r, of Rehabilitation, reconstruction and Recovery.
Some of the ministries mentioned to Vanguard that were not affected included; the Information and strategy ministry, Ministry of Works, Ministry of Finance, Ministry Health, Ministry Youth, Ministry of Tourism, Ministry Technology and Ministry of Women Affairs.
However, when Vanguard contacted the State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Declan Emelumba, he also confirmed it and said: “The governor said he wants to regig his administration and soon his going to reconstitute his administration to further achieve his agenda for Imo people.”
NHRC lauds NASS for bill on 111 special additional seats for women

The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has commended the National Assembly (NASS) for proposing a law for the constitutional amendment of 111 special additional seats for women in the two chambers of the NASS.
The Executive Secretary of NHRC, Mr Tony Ojukwu, gave the commendation in a statement signed by Mrs Fatimah Agwai – Mohammed, Deputy Director, Public Affairs Unit of the commission.
Ojukwu said that the move serves as a remedy to the current low representation of women in legislative Houses in Nigeria.
“The Commission had on several occasions in the past collaborated with various Civil Society Organisations (CSOs), UNDP and the Federal Ministry of Women Affairs and others in proposing ‘Women Participation in Elections Bill’.
