MoHR provides legal aid to 40,788 women

MoHR provides legal aid to 40,788 women July 27, 2021 Islamabad: Ministry of Human Rights (MoHR) has provided legal aid to as many as 40,788 women under the Women Shelter Home program since 2018. According to the data provided by the Ministry of Human Rights on Monday, shelter homes were established to provide protection to the homeless women. Further, the data revealed that 206 women were being provided medical facilities and 289 women facilitated with informal education. The data also showed that around 304 women were facilitated for skill development and vocational training, however, 35 women successfully achieved the process of reconciliation.

Helpline to strengthen redressal mechanism for women rights Islamabad April 25, 2021 Islamabad : The Ministry of Human Rights (MoHR) has emphasised to strengthen the grievances redressal mechanism to end violence and exploitation of women in Pakistan. The 1099 helpline App was an important step towards strengthening these mechanisms for women rights, said an official Ministry of Human Rights. Talking to APP, he said that since the helpline was launched, it had received over 450,000 calls, 49 per cent of which were related to Women’s rights. The App also provided an alternate and effective mechanism to launch and track complaints related to human rights violations.
