Briefing reporters after the meeting, Planning Division Secretary Mohammad Jainul Bari said that the meeting approved a total of six projects involving an overall estimated cost of Tk 5,619.46 crore. Of the total project cost, Tk 5,519.87 crore will come from the government of Bangladesh, Tk 42.07 crore from the concerned organisation s own fund while the rest Tk 57.52 crore as project assistance, he added.
According to the Planning Commission, the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs alongside the concerned Deputy Commissioner (DC) offices and the UNO offices will implement the housing project for freedom fighters.

Each 635 square feet house, to be called Bir Nibas, will include two bedrooms, two washrooms, a dining space and a kitchen.
A Tk 41.23 billion project to build the houses across Bangladesh will be placed at the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council or ECNEC for approval on Tuesday.
The offices of 64 deputy commissioners and the UNOs will implement the project to be supervised by the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs.

The Liberation War affairs minister is also confident that the work to compile a revised and complete list of Razakars, or wartime collaborators of the Pakistani forces, amidst the celebrations of 50 years of independence will be finished before the Victory Day on Dec 16.
“It will take time to settle the appeals by those who felt aggrieved or that they were being denied justice after their names had been dropped during the verification process. Their names will be added if they are proved to be real freedom fighters,” he said at an event in Dhaka on Sunday.
