HONG KONG (Xinhua): The Office of the Commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region condemned, strongly disapproved and firmly opposed on Friday (July 9) the European Parliament resolution on Hong Kong.
In a statement, a spokesperson for the commissioner’s office said the resolution, which “urged” the European Union to take specific actions and even sanctions against China, smeared the independent performance of duties by HKSAR law enforcement and judicial authorities and slandered the Chinese central government’s policy towards Hong Kong.
The spokesperson pointed out that, under the National Security Law for the HKSAR, Hong Kong society has returned to stability, the rule of law and justice have been upheld, and the extensive lawful rights and freedoms enjoyed by Hong Kong residents have been better protected in a more stable and secure environment governed by the rule of law.

Recently, Japan’s relatively balanced foreign policy between China and the United States has changed. In April this year, Japan and the United States mentioned Taiwan for the first time in a joint statement at the summit of heads of state after half a century. Japan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Taro Aso stated in a speech in Tokyo today (5) that if China infringes and attacks Taiwan, Japan may exercise its limited collective self-defense rights in accordance with relevant laws and regulations on security protection. Taro Aso stated: The United States and Japan must defend Taiwan together.”

HONG KONG, July 4 (Xinhua) The Office of the Commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) has strongly disapproved and firmly opposed the far-fetched allegations in the 2021 Trafficking in Persons Report released by the U.S. State Department, which vilified the national security law in Hong Kong to smear the efforts and achievements of the HKSAR in combating trafficking in persons.
The report ignored the fact, smacked of political bias, and was part of the contemptible scheme to seize every possible chance to demonize the national security law in Hong Kong, a spokesperson of the office said.
