It appears a screwdriver was the “ball-handled” object with a “stake” at the end that figured in the fatal shooting of an unarmed Black man by a Clark County deputy during a traffic stop earlier this month, new information made public Friday indicates.
Investigators released a series of photos of what investigators found in Jenoah Donald’s car during a search, including a screwdriver on the console in the front seat, a drill with a bit protruding, several pairs of pliers, other tools as well as a hat and food containers.

PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center has lifted its “no visitor” policy and is now allowing one visitor per day, per patient, with some limited exceptions.
The policy change comes as COVID-19 case counts in Clark County continue to drop significantly.
For patients confirmed with COVID-19, the no-visitors policy will remain in place with limited exceptions.
Exceptions to the policy will be made at the discretion of PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center’s clinical care leadership.
The hospital will continue to screen visitors for fever and COVID-19 symptoms. Visitors must wear a mask during their entire visit.

Vancouver-based PeaceHealth has established a scholarship in memory of Liliya Zagariya, the employee who was killed by a disgruntled patient Dec. 22 at a Vancouver medical office.
The endowed scholarship, open to students from Clark or Cowlitz counties, will cover the costs of tuition and expenses for the Paramedic Training Program at Portland Community College. Zagariya was pursuing a career as a paramedic and volunteering for Cowlitz County Fire District 2 when she died.
“Lily had dedicated her life to her faith, her family and her community,” said Sean Gregory, chief executive at PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center. “PeaceHealth Southwest’s Mission Services, Foundation, and Spiritual Care teams wanted to offer a meaningful and lasting tribute to Lily’s life, and we believe this memorial scholarship is an appropriate reflection of her desire to serve.”
