Tributes have been paid to a taxi-driving former footballer who has lost his six-week battle against coronavirus. Lifelong sportsman Philip Sidney Dutton was a huge character in Stoke-on-Trent having previously played for Port Vale.
The 67-year-old, from Chell Heath, was also well-known as a cabbie for Intercity.

Brave Jordan Hennessy has told how he crawled through thick black smoke into a burning house to rescue his stricken neighbour.
The 35-year-old was relaxing at home when he was alerted to smoke billowing out from a house across their Chell Heath street.
