Meanwhile, Super Specialty Paediatric Hospital & Post Graduate Teaching Institute (SSPHPGTI) popularly called Child PGI is preparing to turn into a Covid hospital. It will start its services with 50 beds, including 10 ICU beds. The hospital on Friday said any child found positive for Covid-19 can be admitted with immediate effect. Meanwhile, the nodal officer in-charge of Covid care in the district, Narendra Bhooshan, directed all L1 category hospitals to be converted into L2 facilities at the earliest. Also, L1 facilities will be equipped with oxygen support. “The OPD services are shut but the vaccinations will continue,” said Dr Ajit Kumar, spokesperson, Sharda hospital. He added that those who require routine treatment in OPD will be provided a telemedicine facility while only serious patients will be treated in emergency.

Noida/Ghaziabad: Gautam Budh Nagar reported four Covid deaths on Tuesday, taking the district’s toll to 97. While a 75-year-old man who was in home isolation after testing positive passed away on Monday, an 80-year-old man who was at Noida Covid Hospital died during treatment. The other two deaths were on April 4 and 11 but they were added to the tally on Tuesday. One was a 48-year-old woman from Noida and the other was a 25-year-old man from Mirzapur in Dankaur who passed away at the Government Institute of Medical Sciences (GIMS). “Both died due to acute respiratory distress syndrome and infection in the lungs. Their entries were made late on Monday due to some technical glitch,” said Dr Sunil Dohare, district data monitoring officer, GB Nagar.

Allot 340 Covid beds for Sharda, DM urges Lko | Noida News

Noida: Gautam Budh Nagar district magistrate on Monday recommended to the director general of medical education and training, Lucknow, to provide 340 additional Covid beds for Sharda Hospital. This is in addition to the 380 beds notified for the facility last month. Apart from that, 200 Covid beds will be added at the Noida International Institute of Medical Sciences (NIIMS), officials said. Currently, the district has two government Covid facilities 250-bed Government Institute of Medical Sciences (GIMS), Greater Noida, and 168-bed Noida Covid Hospital (NCH), Sector 39. While GIMS has an 80-bed ICU, NCH has 38 ICU beds. NCH also has 200 additional beds on standby. Both hospitals currently have an occupancy rate of 85-90% and with more patients seeking hospitalisation, officials said, efforts are on to prepare additional beds.

Representative image NOIDA: The city officially reported its first Covid death in three months on Monday when an 85-year-old woman, a resident of Greater Noida west, passed away of complications related to the novel coronavirus infection. The last Covid death officially reported in Gautam Budh Nagar was on January 5. On Monday, the district also reported its highest daily Covid case tally this year (97). The last time the city saw a higher tally was on December 11 last year when it recorded 100 cases. According to chief medical officer Dr Deepak Ohri, the woman who passed away was undergoing treatment in Delhi where, after showing symptoms, she got tested at Mahajan Diagnostic Centre. “She tested positive but remained at home for the past two-three days and did not inform the district health department.
