New Delhi: Chopra Nursing Home, affiliated to Government Medical College Jammu, will start functioning with 100 bed capacity to begin with and two more Oxygen Plants having a capacity of 2400 LPM i.e. 3456 cubic mt will be installed in GMC Jammu which will be in addition to the existing Oxygen plants. At the same time, it will be ensured that the senior Consultants take regular rounds of the Wards and are also available as and when required.
This feedback was given to Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh, who took a follow-up today of the COVID Care services in GMC Jammu, following a series of deliberations held over the last three to four days in the wake of the COVID surge in Jammu.

Srinagar: Days after veteran separatist leader Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai died in preventive detention, the Jammu and Kashmir police arrested his two sons under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) for âraising anti-national slogansâ during their father’s funeral.
This police action has come under criticism from different quarters, with political parties accusing the administration of punishing the children of the late leader for their father’s ideology. Seventy-seven-year-old Sehrai, who was booked under the Public Safety Act in July 2020, died at the Government Medical College Jammu on May 5, a day after he was shifted there for treatment after his condition worsened in district jail Udhampur.
COVID: Chopra Nursing Home to restart operations as 100 bed Covid centre
Jammu, May 16 (UNI) Closed for the past four years, the Chopra Nursing Home will finally get operational with 100 bed capacity to treat COVID infected.
Taking a review, Union Minister, Dr Jitendra Singh on Sunday said that Chopra Nursing Home, affiliated to Government Medical College Jammu, will start functioning with 100 bed capacity to begin with and two more Oxygen Plants having the capacity of 2400 LPM i.e. 3456 cubic metric tonnes will be installed in GMC Jammu which will be in addition to the existing Oxygen plants.
At the same time, it will be ensured that the senior Consultants take regular rounds of the Wards and are also available as and when required.
