ELMHURST, IL Edward Ronne, Chicago broadcaster and communications leader, died peacefully on January 19. Born Norphin Edward Ronne on January 16, 1928 in Grand Forks, ND, to Jorand and Gust Ronne, he would later go by his middle name. Loving husband to Sandra (nee Holt), Ed is survived by four children, 10 grandchildren, two great grandchildren, half-brother Finn Espeland, numerous other relatives, and countless friends. Ed was preceded in death by Sandra, his parents, and by siblings Krist (Lebakken), Gordon, Emma (Carter), and Rev. Reuben Ronne.
In 1946, Ed enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and served as Chief Mechanic on F-80 Shooting Star fighter jets in the 1st Fighter Group, 27th Squadron at March Air Force Base. He was honorably discharged in 1949.

ROSSMOOR, CA Two Los Alamitos High School Seniors were named Students of the Month for January and February 2021, the Rossmoor Woman s Club announced.
April Chernila and Leah Huffington both hold the honor for the first months of 2021. April Chernila is the founder and president of the LAHS Girls Coding Club and a Vice President for California Scholarship Federation, a spokesperson for the Rossmoor Woman s Club announced.
