Hastings Prince Edward Public Health has issued a statement in regards to the Ontario wide lockdown that will take into effect on Boxing Day.
Premier Doug Ford announced yesterday, that Quinte and the rest of southern Ontario will go into lockdown for 28 days. Northern Ontario will be in lockdown for 14 days.
Dr. Piotr Oglaza, Medical Officer of Health and CEO with HPEPH noted that it is imperative to get the virus under control, as the Hastings and Prince Edward counties have been an increase in cases over the past few weeks.
“Please stay home unless you need to go out for essentials such as groceries, medical care or for work, and avoid socializing with anyone who does not live with you. If everyone adheres to these restrictions, we can get the number of cases under control and protect the most vulnerable in our community, preserve our health system capacity and save lives,” said Dr. Oglaza.
