The House of Commons will sit for a special eight and a half hour session to pay tribute to Prince Philip MEMBERS of Parliament in Westminster will today pay tribute to the late Prince Philip, beginning with a statement from the Prime Minister at 2.30pm. After Boris Johnson speaks, there will be around eight hours of further contributions from other MPs, with the House of Commons due to close at 11pm, according to the event calendar on its website. The House of Lords will also meet to pay tribute to the former Duke of Edinburgh “and agree a Humble Address of condolence to Her Majesty The Queen”.
The Duke passed away peacefully at Windsor Castle on Friday aged 99, and Susanna admitted she was struck by his notoriously forthright approach during their one and only meeting.
Buckingham Palace has announced the date of the funeral and revealed that the arrangements - which will ""celebrate and reflect"" a life of service - have been amended because of the coronavirus pandemic
