Leaders in Suffolk and north Essex have paid tribute to The Duke of Edinburgh who gave so much to our nation after Buckingham Palace confirmed his death aged 99.
Prince Philip, who was the longest-serving consort in British history, passed away peacefully this morning at Windsor Castle.
Following the news of his death, an outpour of heartfelt tributes have been paid by leaders in the community, such as MPS and councillors.

The Duke of Edinburgh passed away peacefully at Windsor Castle, the Royal Family has announced.
The Duke, who had recently been treated for a pre-existing heart condition and an infection, died on Friday morning, just two months before his 100th birthday.
A statement from Buckingham Palace said: “It is with deep sorrow that Her Majesty The Queen has announced the death of her beloved husband, His Royal Highness The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh.

Dignitaries from across Herts have offered their condolences following the death of HRH Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh.
Robert Voss, Her Majesty s Lord-Lieutenant of Hertfordshire, said: It with great sadness that we learn of the death of HRH The Duke of Edinburgh. His Royal Highness devoted his life to serving Her Majesty and this country and his sense of duty was unfailing. He is often remembered for his wit and sense of humour and fun but he never wavered in his support of The Queen and the many charities and other organisations which he supported including of course The Duke of Edinburgh’s Awards.
Several Ely school children were privileged to meet and talk to the Duke.
HRH was also happy to meet with a few local well-wishers who were of course happy to meet the Prince.
A maple tree was planted to commemorate the special event.
The Duke also unveiled a carved commemorative stone - a tonne of Cumbrian green slate - which had been inscribed by Sutton calligrapher Tom Perkins.
Lord-Lieutenant of Cambridgeshire, Julie Spence, said: I would like to convey to Her Majesty The Queen, the deep sympathy felt by the whole of Cambridgeshire and Peterborough on hearing the sad news of the death of HRH Prince Philip The Duke of Edinburgh.
