By: Times News Service Image used for illustrative purpose Muscat: As part of implementing the directives of His Majesty Sultan Haitham Bin Tarik, the Ministry of Defence, in coordination with the Ministry of Labour, will start receiving the requests of job seekers who meet the terms of recruitment for joining the Sultan s Armed Forces from Thursday. A statement issued online by Oman News Agency (ONA), said: In the implementation of the directives of His Majesty Sultan Haitham Bin Tarik, the Supreme Commander, to quickly implement operational initiatives, the Ministry of Defense, in coordination with the Ministry of Labour, will start from tomorrow (Thursday) to receive the requests of job seekers who meet the terms of recruitment and joining the Sultan s Armed Forces, through a number of announcements that will be published in succession for the Royal Army of Oman, the Royal Air Force of Oman, the Royal Omani Navy, and other departments of the Ministry of Defence.

His Majesty has often reaffirmed that youth are the inexhaustible wealth of nations and that youth employment tops national priorities. In pursuance of the efforts exerted by the departments concerned to provide jobs in public and private establishments and to promote self-employment, it has been decided to create more than 32,000 jobs for Omanis during 2021, among them 12,000 jobs in the government’s civil and military establishments in accordance with the actual needs of different departments. Also, within the context of the Royal directives of His Majesty the Sultan and as part of efforts made by government departments to find all means to support employment, various employment initiatives have been launched, reflecting the government’s keenness to employ job seekers and workers who were laid off in the backdrop of the current global economic circums

Job seekers, terminated workers in Oman approach labour offices, seek status settlement By: ONA Muscat: A number of job seekers and workers whose services were terminated visited the directorates of the Ministry of Labour on Monday, where they urged the authorities to settle their status at a time the government is pressing ahead with its programme of employment of citizens. The government is providing employment opportunities through its programme of training and replacement of expat workers in the public sector with Omanis. The government also facilitates employment in different private sector areas. This includes the announcement made on Monday on the finalisation of appointment procedures for 2,364 teachers in the School Year 2021-2022, as well as the Sultan Qaboos Naval Academy’s announcement of receiving a new batch of recruits yesterday.
