Adam to host Al Bashayer annual camel festival from February 15

Adam: The fourth round of Al-Bashayer Arabian Camel Festival will be held in the Wilayat of Adam, Governorate of Al Dakhiliyah, from February 15 to 20.
A wide base of camel owners from the Sultanate and other GCC countries will take part in the annual event.
His Highness Sayyid Asa’ad bin Tarik Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for International Relations and Cooperation Affairs, Personal Representative of His Majesty the Sultan, said, “Al-Bashayer Festival is a sports event that represents a variety of sporting, social and economic values. We are keen on organizing the festival on an annual basis at Al Bashayer racecourse, which emerges this year in its new outlook after the completion of expansion works qualifying it to better host all sorts of activities.”

His Majesty congratulates President of Sri Lanka

Muscat: His Majesty Sultan Haitham Bin Tarik has sent a cable of congratulations to President Gotabaya Rajapaksa of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka on his country s Independence Anniversary.
In the cable, His Majesty expressed his sincere congratulations and best wishes of good health and happiness to President Rajapaksa and the friendly people of Sri Lanka further progress and prosperity.
People over 65 years of age to be vaccinated from Sunday in Oman

Muscat: The Ministry of Health will, on Sunday, launch a campaign targeting a new segment of society as part of its COVID-19 national immunisation drive using Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine.
The campaign will target people aged 65+ in all governorates of the Sultanate, irrespective of whether they are ‘healthy’ or not. The vaccine will be given at designated immunisation centres. The two-dose vaccine will be given in intervals of four weeks.
Last Saturday, the Sultanate received a total of 100,000 doses of Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine from India where the medicine was produced at Serum Institute. Oman’s Minister of Health has thanked the government of India for delivering 100,000 vaccines at no charge, to help with the country’s coronavirus vaccination drive.
