“The opening of our newest Publix location in the Shoppes at RiverTown Shopping Center has been greatly anticipated by our associates and the community,” Chris Norberg, Publix Jacksonville Division community relations manager, said in a release. “We look forward to continuing to grow our relationship with the Saint Johns community and providing them with the premier customer service and quality products they are accustomed to with Publix.”

Other efforts include heightened sanitizing procedures; contactless pay options; and services like grocery delivery, powered by Instacart, and pharmacy delivery.
The St. Augustine Beach City Commission Monday unanimously named Daniel Carswell the chief of police.
Carswell has served as the interim police chief since Nov. 9, when former chief Rob Hardwick was elected sheriff of St. Johns County. During the meeting, Hardwick voiced his strong support for Carswell as both the sheriff and personally from his family as residents of St. Augustine Beach.
Sgt. Natalie Gillespie also spoke favorably of Carswell, telling commissioners he “has poured his heart and soul” into the St. Augustine Beach Police Department since 2006.
“I am very excited and honored to be selected as chief of police,” Carswell said. “The St. Augustine Beach Police Department has an outstanding history of police chiefs who were loved by this community and the officers they led. I hope to continue in that tradition and maintain the reputation that the SABPD has earned. This agency means everything to me, and I am going to continue to work hard to serve this community
Pie in the Sky has been working diligently to ensure its seniors are well taken care of through these unprecedented times. The nonprofit organization has gathered volunteers, hosted fundraisers, partnered with local restaurants, and is now announcing its new partnership with the local medical office, Island Doctors.
Island Doctors recently donated over $7,000 to Pie in the Sky, which will help fund produce costs for seniors throughout the spring season.
“We are thrilled to renew our partnership with Island Doctors,” said Pie in the Sky Executive Director Malea Guiriba. “Their support during COVID has allowed us to continue purchasing high-quality produce at the quantity that our seniors need. We are so grateful to Island Doctors for their support of Pie and our seniors.”
