The defendant s attendance was excused at a hearing at the Auckland District Court on Thursday, with the entertainer s lawyer entering not guilty pleas to the charges. Defence lawyer Harrison Smith said interim name suppression was granted at the entertainer s first appearance and sought for it to be continued. Judge Belinda Sellars QC set a name suppression hearing down on September 2.

Stuff he climbed up onto the barge on Sunday night, knowing police would arrive at the site on Monday morning. “It was the only way to do it,” he said. He said he waited for high tide and used a ladder to scale the structure. He had a tent up there, and hunkered down next to the crane to keep out of the rain.
