Andrew Kent collected second team all-American honors in the 3K to close out the 2021 NCAA Division I Indoor Track & Field National Championships on Saturday afternoon in Fayetteville, Ark.
Kent clocked in with time of 7:58.34, finishing in 13th-place. Saturday’s race was the second fastest 3K time Kent has earned in his collegiate career.
It is the first time in Kents’ career he has been named an all-American. Kent is the fourth Yellow Jacket to earn second team all-American honors at this year’s indoor championships.

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Arkansas produced a pair of sixth place efforts on the second day of the NCAA Indoor Championships while three Razorbacks advanced to Saturday finals during qualifying prelims inside Randal Tyson Track Center.
Through seven scored finals, LSU and Georgia are currently tied with 20 points each, followed by Florida State (17), USC (16), North Dakota State (15) and Oregon (13). In qualifying for Saturday finals, the Ducks lead with five while three schools followed with four each for LSU, Florida and North Carolina A&T.
Arkansas currently has six points and is tied for 16
th place.
The distance medley relay posted a time of 9:33.65 to place sixth and earn three points for Arkansas. The foursome included Reese Walters (2:58.61), James Milholen (45.85), Jadon Bartholomew (1:49.98) and Andrew Kibet (3:59.21).

Spejcher produced 3,123 points off his career best marks of 7.08 in the 60m (854 points), and 23-0 ½ (818) in the long jump. Then he added a shot put of 48-9 (781) and a high jump of 6-0 ¾ (670).
Etamar followed with 3,115 points from a day which included career best marks of 6.91 (915) in the 60m, 23-10 ¼ (878) in the long jump, and a 40-5 (626) shot put. He finished the first day with a high jump of 6-2 (696).
Both have potential to challenge for scoring places among the top eight finishers when the multi-event continues Friday with the 60m hurdles, pole vault, and 1,000m.
A third Razorback entrant in the heptathlon, Markus Ballengee, did not finish the first day after posting marks of 7.36 in the 60m (759 points) and 20-5 ¾ (639) in the long jump.
COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State University will be represented by nine student-athletes at the 2021 NCAA Men’s and Women’s Indoor Track and Field Championships, which run Thursday through Saturday at the Randal Tyson Track Center in Fayetteville, Ark. The University of Arkansas is the host school. The event is closed and fans will not be allowed in attendance.
