Hyderabad, June 1 : Former Chief Secretary of combined Andhra Pradesh, S.V.Prasad succumbed to coronavirus at a private hospital here on Tuesday.
The 1975 batch IAS officer was admitted to hospital two days ago along with his wife.
Prasad was appointed the Chief Secretary in 2010 when K. Rosaiah was the Chief Minister. He served on the post for two years.
Popular as a suave and soft-spoken person in bureaucratic circles, he served as the PrincipalSsecretary during the tenure of several Chief Ministers including N. Janardhan Reddy, Kotla Vijayabhaskar Reddy, N. Chandrababu Naidu and Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy.

The Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) has prepared tenders for induction of 350 AC electric buses sanctioned by the Department of Heavy Industries (DHI) and approved by the Government.
Bids have been invited for procurement, maintenance and operation of the buses through the Gross Cost Contract (GCC) model under phase-II of the FAME India scheme.
In a statement on Thursday, the RTC Executive Director (Engineering) said the tender documents were submitted for judicial preview as per AP Infrastructure (Transparency through Judicial Preview) Act.
The tender documents are now in public domain of Judicial Preview website www.judicialpreview.ap.gov.in to invite objections/suggestions from the general public and intending bidders.

At least 40 patients needing critical care used it within two days The two ‘Oxygen on Wheels’ ambulances have accommodated above 40 patients in need of critical care treatment for COVID-19 within in two days on the campus of District Government Hospital (DGH) in Rajamahendravaram city in East Godavari district.
The two 35-seater Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) vehicles have been converted into the mobile ambulances in the city, creating the additional bedding facility on the DGH campus. Scores of patients have been waiting for the oxygen facility at the DGH, where beds with oxygen facility remain unavailable due to the rise in the number of cases.

East Godavari (Andhra Pradesh) [India], May 14 (ANI): Amid difficulties of Covid-19 patients finding beds and oxygen supply, two Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) buses oxygen-on-wheels will operate from Friday.
Rajamahendravaram MP Margani Bharat hired two APSRTCbuses Vennela AC buses and named them as Jagananna Prana Vayuvu Ratha Chakralu after making a few modifications to accommodate six Covid-19 patients. Bus has six oxygen concentrators and will provide oxygen to patients waiting outside Rajamahendravaram government hospital.
The patients who will not get oxygen beds immediately at the hospital or covid care centres will be placed in these buses until they get one at the hospital.

The authorities of Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC), Rajamahendravaram depot have decided to convert four buses into the ‘Oxygen on Wheel’ ambulances which will be deployed in the town.
In response to an appeal made by MP Margani Bharat, the APSRTC authorities took the decision and two such ambulances would be handed over to the East Godavari district authorities on Saturday.
“An agency hired by the government will install the oxygen facility in the abmbulances,” said APSRTC Rajamahendravaram depot manager P.N.V.M. Satyanarayana Murthy.
