The Andhra Pradesh State Election Commission has issued a notification for the resumption of stalled poll procedure to the Man Mandal Parishad and Zilla Parishad Territorial Constituencies (MPTC, ZPTC) in the state. Accordingly, the new SEC has released an election schedule for the conduct of MPTCs and ZPTCs. Polling will be held on April 8 from 7 am to 5 am wherever necessary. However, a repoll if any will be conducted on April 9 and counting of votes will be held on April 10 from 8 am onwards and results will be declared soon after completion of counting of votes, according to a notification issued on Thursday.

The Andhra Pradesh State Election Commission on Thursday issued the notification for resumption of stalled poll process to the mandal and zilla parishad territorial constituencies. As per the notification, the election will be held on April 8 and counting of votes on April 10.
The Commission saw hectic activity since Thursday morning when Nilam Sawhney assumed charge as the new State Election Commissioner.

Governor Biswa Bhusan Harichandan and his wife cast their votes at C. V. R. High School in Vijayawada city. Elections for 12 municipal corporations and 71 municipalities in Andhra Pradesh are going on peacefully under close watch by the State Election Commission.
Commissioner N. Ramesh Kumar visited a few polling stations in Vijayawada city along with district Collector A Md. Imtiaz and some other officials.
