The permanent collection at the Foosaner Art Museum in Melbourne could be destined for a museum in Ocala.
A spokesman for Florida Tech, which owns the Foosaner, says the college is, “finalizing transfer agreements” with the Appleton Museum of Art and the College of Central Florida.
“Spectrum of Creativity”: The City of Ocala and the Magnolia Art Xchange will present “Spectrum of Creativity,” the 2021 Student and Emerging Artist Competition, showcasing the work of local students and emerging artists, April 9-July 7, in the first floor lobby at Ocala City Hall, 110 SE Watula Ave, Ocala. Anderson: Don t push Bright Futures into the Dark Ages

State Sen. Dennis Baxley, R-Ocala, has apparently spent his quarantine dreaming up weird and dangerous things to inflict upon the staid population of Florida.
In my mind’s eye, I see him paralytically bored. He’s just read some Facebook posts by a more focused friend, about how they spent their last lockdown week re-reading Fowles’s “Magus” or Lord Byron’s “Stanzas for Music,” or maybe tripping through an online walking tour of the Louvre. He grows increasingly irritated because the best he can offer is an old post about some cooking show he saw about grinding a better steak burger. He snaps his fingers, decides on a course of direct action and calls in his legislative assistant (via Zoom, of course) and tells her to “get busy” because “we’re going to put a halt to subsidizing all this smarty-pants nonsense once and for all.
