Multiple Fatalities Reported In Orange, California Shooting
SANTA ANA (CNS) - After three previous postponements, arraignment for the man charged with killing four people, including a 9-year-old boy, in a shooting rampage in Orange is tentatively rescheduled for today.
The arraignment of Aminadab Gaxiola Gonzalez, 44, had been delayed three times, including Tuesday, due to the defendant s apparent incapacitation.
Gonzalez was shot last Wednesday by police in the courtyard of the building at 202 W. Lincoln Ave. in Orange, where the mass shooting took place.
An arraignment Wednesday remains uncertain as well. Defense attorneys will alert the judge and prosecutors if they are able to communicate with the defendant so a hearing can go forward.
The court hearing to determine if Lawtis Rhoden, a sexually violent predator, should be located to Twentynine Palms has been delayed a month. The hearing was originally scheduled for Friday, April 16; the new date is Friday, May 21. In March, the Orange County Superior Court tentatively ordered convicted child rapist and violent sexual predator Rhoden, 71, to be released into a residential neighborhood in Twentynine Palms, despite having no ties to the City of Twentynine Palms or the Morongo Basin area. Residents are encouraged to write emails or letters to protest the proposed move of Rhoden to the Morongo Basin.
